Hundreds of growers and industry officials gathered in Biggs today, for the annual Rice Field Day at the California Rice Experiment Station (RES) in Biggs.

A highlight was Dr. Kent McKenzie winning this year’s California Rice Industry Award.

In his more than 30 years of service, Kent oversaw many advancements for our industry. He was hired as a plant breeder at the RES in 1988 and was promoted to station director in 2000.

Congratulations Kent on this well-deserved honor!
