NCWA Releases Latest Water Year Outlook & Impacts

The Northern California Water Association has released the most updated water year outlook, which includes the latest Dry Year Impacts felt throughout the Sacramento Valley.

The full update outlines the current impacts of this dry year on agriculture, rural communities and the economic toll the drought has caused. The environmental impacts and hurdles area refuges, native birds and other wildlife are facing are also detailed.

Rice Levee, Road Edge, and Ag Corridor Program – Application Period Now Open

California Waterfowl Association (CWA) is now soliciting applications for the Rice Levee, Road Edge, and Ag Corridor Program. This program is funded by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, through the Nesting Bird Habitat Incentive Program, which pays private landowners 80 cents per linear foot for the management of their internal rice levees or road edges for upland nesting bird species (Mallard, Gadwall, and Pheasant).
