Natural Resources Conservation Service – RCPP, EQIP, CSP

About the Program

The Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) has local offices throughout the region and offers several different programs for cost-share of conservation practices on private land. Programs include Regional Conservation Partnership Program (RCPP), Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP), and Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP). Conservation practices include cover crops for nesting habitat, winter flooding with variable drawdown, shoulder season flooding for shorebirds, and much more. Payment rates vary based the program, the year, and the practice(s) selected.

The California Rice Commission and partners renewed their RCPP funding for waterbird practices for 2026 through 2029. If you have questions, especially if you are considering cover crop retention for breeding birds, please contact Kristin Sesser, Wildlife Programs Manager for the California Rice Commission, at (916) 607-8988 or ksesser@calrice.org.

Please visit your local NRCS office for more detailed information.
