The California Rice Commission is strongly encouraging its member growers and millers to participate in an important survey, facilitated by Cal Poly, to better understand the future electrical needs of farmers and processors. Many questions remain about the future energy demand from zero-emission equipment mandates. Without better data, the utilities cannot provide the energy distribution needed to meet the important needs of farmers and processors.
This survey is critical to ensure PG&E makes the necessary electrification upgrades in the Sacramento Valley. It will not ask for any names or addresses, just a zip code. Depending upon the number of pieces of equipment you operate (trucks/tractors/forklifts), this should take less than 30 minutes to complete.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact CRC Environmental Affairs Manager, Paul Buttner, at (916) 206-5340 or pbuttner@calrice.org.
