Conservation Programs Workshop planned September 5

Conservation Programs Workshop planned September 5

The California Rice Commission (CRC) is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a Conservation Programs Workshop to update growers on current conservation opportunities. This workshop will provide information of CRC’s efforts to pursue more Natural Resources Conservation Service funding for annual wildlife practices, the California Ricelands Waterbird Foundation’s new waterbird habitat program starting this spring, as well as an update on California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s winter flooding program.

The CRC will host a workshop at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 5, at the Colusa Casino for anyone wanting to learn more details about the current conservation programs and those being developed.

For questions about the Conservation Programs Workshop, contact Luke Matthews: lmatthews@calrice.org or (916) 607-8988.

Seeking farmers: Get paid to provide habitat

The Migratory Bird Conservation Partnership (Audubon California, The Nature Conservancy, and Point Blue Conservation Science), in collaboration with the California Rice Commission and the Delta Conservancy, and with funding from the California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife, is now accepting online bids for the BirdReturns-Late Summer Farmlands Habitat Program.
