CRC Grower Meetings to be held January 18

Our annual CRC grower meetings will be held Wednesday January 18, 2023 in Colusa and Yuba City.  The meetings will provide rice growers and handlers with the latest information on key issues impacting the industry.

This year’s scheduled presenters include: 

  • Taylor Roschen with Kahn, Soares & Conway will provide a state update
  • Tyson Redpath with The Russell Group will provide a Washington, D.C. overview and what to expect for the next farm bill
  • CDFA Undersecretary Christine Birdsong will provide the latest on the CA Small Ag Business Drought Relief Grant Program
  • David Guy with the Northern California Water Association will provide the latest water year outlook
  • Peter Bachman with USA Rice will discuss trade and Biden Administration updates

Rice Levee, Road Edge, and Ag Corridor Program – Application Period Now Open

California Waterfowl Association (CWA) is now soliciting applications for the Rice Levee, Road Edge, and Ag Corridor Program. This program is funded by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, through the Nesting Bird Habitat Incentive Program, which pays private landowners 80 cents per linear foot for the management of their internal rice levees or road edges for upland nesting bird species (Mallard, Gadwall, and Pheasant).

Rice Levee, Road Edge, and Ag Corridor Program Announcement

California Waterfowl Association (CWA) will soon be soliciting applications for the Rice Levee, Road Edge, and Ag Corridor Program. This program is funded by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, through the Nesting Bird Habitat Incentive Program, which pays private landowners 80 cents per linear foot for the management of their internal rice levees or road edges for upland nesting bird species (Mallard, Gadwall, and Pheasant). To participate in this program, vegetation on rice levees and roads must be left from the previous growing season. Enrolled areas must be left undisturbed until July 15th.
