Rice WDR Drinking Water Well Monitoring

The Drinking Water Well Monitoring website has updated its list of certified analytical laboratories as of January 12, 2023, which can now be found here.  Each drinking water well in use on a rice parcel must be sampled for nitrate + nitrite as nitrogen annually, unless you submit three consecutive years with results below 8 milligrams per liter (mg/L) or if your results are greater than 10 mg/L and both the drinking water well users and the Central Valley Water Board are notified.

Thiobencarb Stewardship Training

The California Rice Commission will provide online Mandatory Preseason Thiobencarb Stewardship training, anticipated to begin the first week of February. Check back soon for updated instructions.

Rice WDR FE/NMP Update

The Farm Evaluation (FE) and Nitrogen Management Plan (NMP) reporting requirements for 2022 have been repealed by the Central Valley Water Board, due to the reduction in acreage from drought conditions. No reporting of the 2022 crop is required. Reporting for 2023 crop information will be required in 2024.
