Selling medium grain rice seed to Mid-South

Selling medium grain rice seed to Mid-South

Medium grain rice production in the Mid-South is projected to increase significantly in 2023. Currently, all certified southern medium grain rice seed has been sold out. Some Mid-South rice growers have reached out to California seed producers to purchase California Calrose medium grain varieties.

The Rice Experiment Station California Calrose varieties are grower-owned and protected for the benefit of California rice growers and to protect our Calrose market. Selling rice seed for the purpose of production in other rice producing states is strictly prohibited without written consent from the California Cooperative Rice Research Foundation, according to the licensing agreement.
