Highly Qualified Avian Biologist Joins CRC as New Wildlife Programs Manager

This week marks the start for incoming Wildlife Programs Manager, Kristin Sesser. While Kristin is new to the role, she is already very familiar with our conservation programs, working on many firsthand out in the field.

Kristin previously worked for Point Blue Conservation Science as a Senior Avian Ecologist. Her work there centered on enhancing waterbird habitat throughout rice fields and other agricultural lands across the Sacramento Valley. In addition to being familiar with the rice region, she also has prior experience developing incentive programs for private landowners.

She holds a M.S. degree from Humboldt State University and a B.S. in Wildlife, Fish and Conservation Biology from the University of California, Davis. Kristin also previously worked for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

Kristin brings an abundance of knowledge on waterbirds and has a deep passion for wildlife conservation within the rice region.

She can be reached at ksesser@calrice.org or (916) 607-8988
