Early Phase 2 Reopenings
Today, the Governor announced that California would move to the early stages of Phase 2 of the COVID-19 response effective tomorrow, May 8. Early Phase 2 reopens retail for curbside pick-up, manufacturing and logistics. Offices and restaurants have not yet been released to open but are slated for later in Phase 2. There are no changes to essential businesses including agriculture. Requirements for counties to move further into Phase 2 will be published on Tuesday, May 12.

Overweight Truck Permit Available but Limited
Caltrans has issued a press release on special permits authorizing overweight trucks to deliver emergency COVID-19 supplies. In discussions with CDFA, we understand that this should apply to ag products throughout the supply chain that support food deliveries to retail outlets. The new permits option does not apply to export.
