Reminder – RCPP Enrollments Closing Soon

If you are interested in participating or enrolling in any of the RCPP practices this year, you must get your application into in your local Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) office by Friday, January 13, 2023. See below for a list of the available practices this round. 

Major Practices included:

  1. Upland Habitat Enhancements
    • Long-term plantings to enhance habitat for pheasant, songbirds, pollinators, etc.
  2. Cover Crops
    • Fall planting in 2023
  3. Winter Flooding with Variable Drawdown – High and Low Intensity
    • Winter flooding and extended drawdowns for winter season 2023-24
  4. Seasonal Flooding with Gradual Drawdown
    • Summer shorebird Flooding (July – September)

Reminder – Nesting Bird Habitat Incentive Program 

The California Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Nesting Bird Habitat Incentive Program (NBHIP) is partnering with the California Waterfowl Association to accept applications for a variety of programs for farmers and private landowners this spring. Applications will be open until March 31st and include the following programs: Fallow Agriculture, Delayed Cereal Grain Harvest and Upland Management Agreements.
