The timeline for nominations and elections has been moved back a month, to allow for expanded qualification for growers who did not plant rice last year due to the drought. District calculations will also include planted and prevented planted acres. Both of these changes are included in AB 454, which is now making its way through the legislature and expected to be signed by the governor by July 15.
The expected new nominations and elections timeline:
- Nominations: July 15 – August 15
- Elections: August 30 – September 14
