State Grant Just the First Step

We appreciate the Governor’s California Small Agricultural Business Drought Relief Grant Program. This brand new program is a good first step to meet the needs of very small businesses impacted by the drought. This success was the result of great work with NCWA, CA Agricultural Aircraft Association, California Warehouse Association and others in agriculture. To address the needs of rice mills, dryers and larger suppliers, federal relief will be needed.

Our team in Washington is working to identify unspent pandemic funding and work with USDA to provide meaningful support for our mills, dryers and suppliers that are so much a part of our communities and critical to our farms. We are also focusing to restore employee retention tax credits in discussions with Congress.

Assistance from Washington takes time, but know we are using every resource at our disposal to bring some amount of relief.
