2024/25 Producer Ballots in the Mail

Producers will receive ballots for open member and alternate seats for the 2024/25 CRC Board of Directors this week. Completed ballots must be postmarked by August 15, 2024, and returned to CDFA. If you do not receive a ballot for all your entities, please call Summer at 916-387-2264 and she will arrange to provide one.

As required by statute, seats are allocated to each district based on the number of acres produced in that district compared to the state total for the prior year (2023). The total number of seats are determined by the number of eligible handlers who are interested in serving on the board.

Last year, the total number of seats and their distribution were amplified when we declared a drought and seats were determined based on a 5-year average.  This year available seats reflect the prior year acreage and handler eligibility as is typical.

To participate in this program, vegetation on rice levees and roads must be left from the previous growing season. Enrolled areas must be left undisturbed until July 15th.
