Surface Water Monitoring Programs Begin Next Week on May 9th 

The Rice Pesticide Program (RPP) will begin next week on May 9th.  The RPP monitors for thiobencarb for 10 consecutive weeks at 4 agricultural drain sites (2 east and 2 west of the Sacramento River), and one site in the Sacramento River near downtown Sacramento and upstream of the drinking water intake facilities.

Online Thiobencarb Stewardship Training is available now

The mandatory thiobencarb stewardship training recording is available 24/7 with access to the video throughout the use season. Viewing the video is the only option to receive the certificate of completion. Taking the exam is optional, so the reason two links are available: 1) Select “Certificate Only” if you prefer to view the video with no exam and receive a certificate of completion, or 2) choose the other link to view the video, take the exam, and receive a certificate of completion.

More Positive Results from Thiobencarb Monitoring

Good news continues as the thiobencarb monitoring results hit a peak detection of 1.2 ppb on May 20 at the CBD5 site, which is below the performance goal of 1.5 ppb. Monitoring results at the CBD5 site recovered to 0.79 ppb and 0.73 ppb on May 25 and 27. Sight detections were discovered at the lower Colusa Basin site (CBD1) and Butte Sough. We are halfway through the monitoring season and will continue share monitoring results throughout the season.
